| SIRE - RASCAL OF SCOTT - WHITE |
I AM HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE THE BIRTH OF GARNET AND RASCALS PUPPIES BORN ON NOVEMBER 16, 2011 THREE BOYS and TWO GIRLS |
| Waiting anxiously for the Doctor to let us know how many puppies to expect. |
| Raven - the female white puppy appears to be showing champagne markings around one of her eyes and ears and a few areas on her back. Bengal, the female and Steeler, the male both with brown markings, appear to be tri colors. We can see what appears to be black hairs intermingled in the brown patches. We will have to wait until they get a little older to be certain UPDATE: At the pups seven week veterinarian checkup the vet and her two assistants have confirmed the presence of black hairs intermingled in the coats of Bengal and Steeler, and they are as I had suspected, tricolor pups. |
HOW I FOUND RASCAL Before Garnet Passed her CTCA Health testing, I had already begun my journey to find the perfect mate for her. I was looking for a stud that had previously sired a litter and had produced white pups. My goal is to produce healthy pups with wonderful sweet temperaments. I have produced black and white and tricolor pups, but never a white puppy. I was also looking to produce my first white puppy. Garnet is a beautiful tricolor Coton, she is gentle, calm, loving, very observant, will sit with you for hours, likes to go for walks and has a wonderful sweet temperament. I was hoping that by breeding her with a White Coton that would give me the best chance of producing a white puppy. The day I brought Garnet to my vet for her health testing, I was talking to one of the staff; she asked me if I had found a stud to breed with Garnet. I told her not yet, but that I had begun to look for the perfect match for her. She mentioned to me that she grooms a Coton for a family that belong to the CTCA. Over the next several months when I would bring one of my Cotons in for a checkup, we would often talk about this Coton, named Rascal. She told me he was all white, with a beautiful coat, that does not mat and he had a wonderful temperament. I contacted Rascal's owners, we met a few times before breeding to introduce Garnet and Rascal to each other. The two of them got along very well. Rascal is a healthy beautiful 10 1/2 year old White Coton with a wonderful sweet temperament and has sired several litters of healthy pups. After the birth of the first puppy, I was very happy to see that the pup was all white. We named him Bear, after our hometown football team; The Chicago Bears. Rascal was the perfect match for Garnet. I have no doubt these pups will have all of the characteristics of their parents. Loving, gentle, and a calm sweet disposition. Look at the beautiful pups they have produced. In all, five beautiful pups, three white and two tricolor. |
