I am sometimes asked if Malala's was born with black markings on her body that have faded to make her coat
look white. Malala was born with black on her head, a small patch of black on the base of her tail, and only a
very small spot of black on her back. I always say it looks like a brush stoke of black on the white hair. You
can see the " brush stroke" in the below picture which was taken when she was one week old. She has
retained this small patch of black color into adulthood. Though her tail appears gray and white, she was born
with a white tail. The black hairs came in with her adult coat, giving the appearance of the gray color. Her face
has grayed a bit, as it sometimes does on a Black and White Coton.
